 2008 Meet Schedule

To all DSA
teams:
The 2008
schedule that was on the web site has been replaced with a newer
version. About four weeks ago the board asked Ruth Hobbs to
assemble a schedule from scratch with no input data from the
teams, as it was lost in the laptop that was stolen from the
former Schedule Chair Janine Huss. Ruth spent a lot of time and
effort to put together the current schedule especially since she
only had the previous years’ schedules and no input data from
any of the teams. That is why the schedule is not what you were
expecting knowing what you had selected in the online race
picks.
Shortly
after the schedule went online we were finally able to contact
Janine in North Carolina and she had found over half of the race
picks that teams had submitted to her on a different computer.
Janine created a new schedule based on the race picks and filled
in the blanks from past history in the league. The consensus of
the Board is that the new schedule better reflects the teams’
meet choices as it is based largely on data submitted by the
teams last year. I know many of you have already made changes to
correct the current schedule and we apologize for putting you
through additional work.
The new
schedule is attached and it is also on the web site. The
schedule is amendable immediately and we plan to set aside
additional time at the May meeting to correct any problems that
can be done one on one with the coaches and team reps present.
This year we will have multiple backups to the data you submit
for next year’s race picks to eliminate the loss of the data.
Each team will be required to submit their race picks online or
before the meet entries deadline for the Champs as usual. We
will have the 2009 schedule at the Champs meet for your review.
Again we
apologize and our only concern is to give you a schedule that
reflects your original input as closely as possible.
